Frequently asked questions
An architectural colour palette is a coordinated set of colours for surfaces such as walls, ceilings, floors, façades and joinery. This tool lets you choose a starting colour, adjust proportions and preview how the colours work together.
Start with five: a main surface, a secondary tone, a floor or base colour, a frame or joinery colour and an accent. Choose three for a simpler scheme or seven when you need more supporting shades. The proportions are editable design starting points.
Yes. Open Preview interiors & exteriors to try both. Open Where to use each colour for surface suggestions, then check the actual finish in its setting. Exterior suitability depends on the material, coating and exposure, not on a screen colour alone.
RAL Classic, Design and Effect are included as independent screen approximations. For NCS, Pantone or your own RAL data, import an ASE, CSV or JSON library. Nearest matches are suggestions. Check a physical sample before specifying a finish.
Download ASE for compatible Adobe swatch workflows, SVG for editable vector swatches or PNG for a presentation. Copy HEX, RGB, HSL, approximate CMYK and Lab values for manual entry in other software. CAD and BIM colour import depends on the application.
Bookmark a palette to save it in this browser. Copy link includes the palette colours, proportions and surface assignments so another visitor can open and edit it. Download share image creates a portrait PNG. Uploaded reference images and imported colour libraries are excluded from shared links.
The curated collection contains 108 original schemes arranged in 18 themes for buildings, interiors and landscapes. Calm softens the saturation and deepest tones. Original keeps the curated colours. Ready-made palettes replace all current colours, including locked colours. Only Match my colour builds variations around your starting colour. Suggestions change when you request more or change their inputs; they do not replace the palette you are editing.
Digital colours are starting points. Compare physical samples beside the actual materials and under the project lighting.
